“When kids go to school, the parents give up control. But once the kids leave the school, the parents again are the primary custodians, and have decision-making authority over those kids.” So says Witold Walczak, legal director of the ACLU of Pennsylvania as quoted in an AP article today.

Well, at least he was honest about what many of us have feared and most prefer to deny. I want to take a minute here and address parents and grandparents in America who still believe in the traditional nuclear family. At what point did you grant the public school system sovereignty over your children even for the hours of their attendance? I have three grown children and now 12 grandchildren and I can tell you I never signed my progeny over to the government and never will.

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time to either radically reform or eradicate the public school system in this country. I believe it is the epicenter of corruption and perversion in our culture. Public education, including most colleges and universities, jack-hammer the foundations of rational, moral, and thoughtful values.

We let them teach macro-evolutionary theory as fact, multiculturalism instead of factual history, any kind of sex at any age, and that God (if he, she, or it even exists) does not belong in the classroom. All the while, we seem not to care that the fundamentals of reading, writing, and math are largely ignored in favor of holding sacred individual self-esteem.

ENOUGH! Our children and grandchildren are a sacred trust from the Creator of all and we cannot sub-lease that responsibility to a bunch of agenda-driven surrogates who seem to want nothing less than to produce generations of self-centered, government-dependant automatons.

Parenthetically, I know there are many skilled and caring teachers in the public system who want what’s best for their charges. I ask them to seriously reconsider where their talents could be better applied.

Let’s show this technocratic gristmill of ideology how the free market works. Move your kids to private schools or teach them at home, there are many more options than you might imagine that can fit most any family and budget. I just Googled private schools in my state of Tennessee and 3,340,000 results popped to my access. I did the same for homeschooling and got 1,120,000.

They are worth it and it may be our only hope to preserve a free America.

The view from up here in Canada doesn’t look good for you down there. As someone who has a heart for Americans, I applaud your stand.
